Job Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented experienced Dispatcher/Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the scheduling and dispatch of our fleet, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining a smooth operational flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and dispatch drivers for daily routes while considering traffic, weather, and delivery schedules.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Monitor the performance of drivers and provide support as needed to address any issues that arise during deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, schedules, and driver logs.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and management to resolve issues and provide updates.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with other team members to improve processes and achieve company objectives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a dispatching or logistics planning role.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and dispatching software.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of local roads, traffic patterns, and routes.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with GPS and route optimization software.
- Prior experience in the transportation or logistics industry.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
