Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Civil Foreman/Woman to oversee construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and proficiency in various construction management tools. The Civil Foreman/Woman will coordinate daily operations, supervise crew members, and liaise with project managers to ensure smooth workflow.
Duties
- Work with the crew, client, and Superintendent to understand upcoming requirements and coordinate with Dispatch to organize daily job activities.
- Plan ahead for materials, subcontractors, layout, supply deliveries, density and pressure testing, proof rolls, beam tests, and other project requirements.
- Ensure pre-locates are completed for all existing utilities that may conflict with jobsite activities.
- Attend meetings to review production, scheduling, site conflicts, and toolbox updates with crews.
- Ensure accurate daily reporting of timesheets and work orders to head office.
- Support the training, coaching, and development of crew members.
- Promote and maintain full compliance with Mainland HSE requirements, integrating health, safety, and quality into all aspects of project planning and execution.
Qualifications:
- Related civil construction experience is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Hand or Foreman, with a strong understanding of civil works, particularly pipe or road construction.
- Ability to communicate positively, professionally, and effectively with a wide range of individuals.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills, with the ability to support and train crew members in their responsibilities.
- Professional and courteous approach when interacting with clients, team members, inspectors, and the public.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
