Job Summary
We are a leading wholesaler of premium outdoor furniture, supplying top-tier retailers, commercial developers, and hospitality venues across North America. Our business is fast-paced, seasonal, and growing rapidly.
To support our growth, we are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Officer who can manage our commercial ledgers, keep our cash flow healthy, and build strong relationships with our retail partners.
Duties
In the wholesale world, AR is about more than just sending invoices—it's about managing high-value commercial accounts and aligning with our supply chain. You will oversee the end-to-end AR lifecycle, ensuring our major retail and commercial clients pay on time while maintaining excellent professional relationships.
- Wholesale Invoicing: Generate and issue accurate invoices, factoring in bulk discounts, freight/shipping charges, and specific commercial contract terms.
- Credit & Limit Management: Monitor client credit limits, review new account credit applications, and put holds on shipments for seriously overdue accounts.
- Payment Allocation: Reconcile high-volume EFT payments, checks, and wire transfers against complex, multi-line retail orders.
- B2B Collections: Proactively follow up on outstanding balances with retail buyers and corporate procurement teams using a firm yet collaborative approach.
- Dispute & Claim Resolution: Investigate and resolve customer deductions or disputes regarding transit damages, short-shipments, or returns.
- Logistics Collaboration: Work closely with our warehouse and logistics teams to verify proof of delivery (POD) for invoice matching.
Skills
- Experience: 2+ years of Accounts Receivable experience, ideally within a wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, or import/export environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial credit terms, freight/logistics charging, and handling retail claims/deductions.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in ERP software like Microsoft Dynamics NAV and intermediate Excel skills to handle large data sets.
- Commercial Relationship Skills: Exceptional communication skills. You know how to maintain a strong relationship with a major retail partner while firmly managing their payment timelines.
- Experience dealing with major big-box retailers or large hospitality groups is considered an asset.
This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic finance environment where attention to detail and excellent communication are valued. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations through diligent account management.
