Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching dance, working with children, and creating engaging learning environments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students of all ages through movement, creativity, and education, fostering a love for dance while supporting their developmental growth. Element Dance is specifically seeking a ballet based instructor to teach ages 12+ as well as examination classes (Cecchetti preferred)
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons tailored to various age groups and skill levels
- Demonstrate proper dance techniques and ensure students understand safety guidelines
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment
- Provide individualized feedback to help students improve their skills
- Organize and supervise dance rehearsals and performances when applicable
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and other instructors to support student progress
- Incorporate creative activities that integrate movement with other educational themes such as early childhood education or arts
- Assist with classroom management and maintain a clean, organized studio space
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching dance, preferably with children or early childhood education settings
- ISTD examinations, Cecchetti Ballet or RAD training is an asset.
- Strong background in dance techniques across various styles (ballet, jazz, hip-hop, etc.)
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational environments
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and team members
- Classroom experience or familiarity with early childhood education principles is highly desirable
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for fostering a positive learning atmosphere
- Relevant certifications or training in teaching methods or early childhood education are advantageous
