COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Locomotion Music is a small family owned music school. With over 35 teachers throughout the GTA, Locomotion provides in home & online music lessons. They also partner with local schools and organizations to facilitate music programs and music therapy classes.
*** This is a work from home position for an independent contractor (not employee) for 2-5 hours per week, with the potential for hours to increase over time. The applicant may need to meet with the Locomotion team in person from time to time and attend Locomotion events 2-3 times a year.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Locomotion Music owner with administrative and program management support including inputting, scheduling, creating documents, writing emails & maintaining the workflow of several admin tasks using several programs
- Brainstorm strategies to streamline admin tasks & business development tied to sales
- Attend weekly meetings
- Other admin duties as required such as research, creating newsletters, crafting professional emails, etc.
*** Must have availability during business hours & be comfortable working from home
WORK EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
- Minimum 2 years admin experience with strong customer service skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel. Powerpoint & any other programs a bonus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
- Ability to organize, multi-task and work well with deadlines
- Able to interact with a diverse team and customers
- Ability to work independently and take initiative with limited supervision
- Preferred - background with the music industry or working with a school
- Preferred - experience working with a small business and working from home
EDUCATION:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Administration
