Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Stamping Press Set-up/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience with various Presses and fabrication processes. This role is essential in ensuring that our production meets quality standards while adhering to safety protocols.
Duties
- Monitoring and controlling a semi/fully automated stamping process with hydraulic and servo-hydraulic presses and their supporting Automation (De-coiler, straightener, and transfer system)
- Responsible for press set-up, product quality inspection, data recording and minor adjustments to the equipment and tooling.
- Set-up and operate presses with Manual/ Progressive Die or Transfer Die.
- Conduct quality inspections on finished products using Calipers, Gauges and other measuring tools.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Adhere to safety guidelines while operating hand tools, and forklifts in the manufacturing environment.
- Establish and maintain effective communication levels within all levels of the organization.
- Working in both a team environment supporting your peers and as an individual maintaining your own workstation and production responsibilities.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years previous experience, as a Set-up/Operator preferably in the Sheet Metal Stamping industry.
- Applicants must have prior work experience with Set-up and operating a semi /fully automated stamping process with hydraulic and/or mechanical presses.
- Competent and knowledgeable with progressive and transfer press operations and functions.
- Previous experience driving a lift truck is advantageous.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic Tool and Die Technology.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic automated concepts an asset.
- Must be willing to work afternoon shift and extended hours when required.
