Job Description:
Responsible for the development, execution, and optimization of ESA’s multimedia and digital content initiatives across web, social media, video, and internal communication channels.
This role combines creative multimedia production with digital communications expertise to bring ESA’s brand, public safety initiatives, and corporate priorities to life through compelling visual, audience-focused storytelling.
Collaborating with subject matter experts and business units across ESA, the role is responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and delivering high-quality visual content that builds awareness of electrical safety, strengthens ESA’s digital presence, and supports organizational communications objectives.
Responsibilities:
The role requires both content creation expertise and the ability to support strategic digital content planning and distribution to maximize reach, engagement, accessibility, and overall communications effectiveness across ESA’s communication platforms.
Contribute to the development and execution of integrated multimedia and digital content strategies that support ESA’s strategic communications objectives, stakeholder engagement initiatives, corporate reporting, and brand awareness goals. This role is responsible for the full content lifecycle – from concept development and production to publishing, optimization and performance analysis.
Plan, film, direct, produce, and publish in-house multimedia content including CEO or senior leadership communications, public safety content, social media reels, podcasts, event coverage, and stakeholder storytelling initiatives.
Conduct photography and create compelling visual storytelling for organizational events, leadership communications and corporate publications and presentations while maintaining consistent visual standards, brand identity, and image quality.
Edit, produce and post-produce content optimized for social media, websites, and internal communication platforms using platform-specific and audience-focused best practices.
Design and develop graphic elements, infographics, motion graphics, and digital assets for ESA’s website, social channels, presentations, and print communications.
Support layout, design, and multimedia production for ESA’s annual report, business plan, and Ontario Electrical Safety Report (OESR), and other corporate publications, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as required.
Maintain and organize ESA’s digital media asset library, including video, photography, graphic files, and audio files, ensuring accessibility, consistency and version control.
Identify opportunities to improve user experience, accessibility, SEO and AI search optimization, content effectiveness, and digital engagement. Apply current digital communications, multimedia, and emerging technology best practices to continuously enhance ESA’s communications strategy and digital presence.

Education:
Requires advanced knowledge of multimedia production, digital communications, , and audience engagement, to support the development and optimization of multimedia and digital communications across multiple platforms. Requires knowledge of digital marketing principles, SEO best practices, accessibility standards, analytics, and emerging digital communication technologies.
This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the successful completion of a four-year university degree in communications, digital media, marketing, journalism, public relations, multimedia production, graphic design or a related field.
Experience:
Requires significant professional experience in multimedia production, digital content creation in support of an overall strategy, website content development, and visual storytelling across digital platforms. Demonstrated experience developing, executing, producing, publishing and optimizing integrated multimedia and digital communication strategies that support organizational objectives, public engagement and brand awareness. Understanding of measurable digital performance outcomes is required.
Requires experience applying SEO, accessibility, website optimization, and digital content best practices to support effective digital communications and audience reach. Familiarity with emerging digital trends, and search optimization strategies are considered an asset.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Audition, and Media Encoder, as well as experience using digital content creation and publishing tools such as Canva.
Proficiency with professional video production equipment such as DSLR cameras, microphones, and lighting.
A period of over 6 years up to an including 8 years is considered necessary to gain the combination of digital content and communications, multimedia production, audience engagement, and website optimization experience required for this role.
