Summary Description
The Powersports Sales Consultant is responsible for generating sales, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and building long-term customer relationships that contribute to the growth and profitability of The Power Garage.
This role is responsible for guiding customers through the dealership sales process, maintaining accurate CRM records, generating new business opportunities, and supporting customers throughout the ownership lifecycle.
The Powersports Sales Consultant is expected to actively create sales opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, community involvement, and follow-up activities. Success in this role requires initiative, accountability, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.
As a member of an EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) organization, the Powersports Sales Consultant is expected to actively participate in Level 10 Meetings, contribute to departmental Rocks and Scorecards, complete assigned To-Dos, and support a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Execute the Dealership Sales Process
Consistently follow and execute the dealership sales process from initial customer contact through delivery and follow-up.
Responsibilities
- Professionally greet and engage customers.
- Build rapport and establish trust through effective communication and relationship building.
- Conduct customer needs assessments to identify wants, needs, intended use, and budget.
- Present products using dealership sales techniques and Feature-Advantage-Benefit (FAB) selling methods.
- Conduct product demonstrations, walk-arounds, test rides, and presentations as appropriate.
- Present ownership options, pricing, and purchase proposals.
- Obtain customer commitment and complete all required sales documentation accurately.
- Follow all required turnover procedures with Parts & Accessories, Sales Management, Business Office, and Delivery departments.
- Ensure all sales opportunities are progressed through the dealership sales process efficiently and professionally.
2. Generate New Business Opportunities
Actively create sales opportunities rather than relying solely on dealership-generated traffic.
Responsibilities
- Prospect for new business through referrals, networking, community involvement, social media, events, and customer outreach.
- Build and maintain a personal customer database.
- Generate repeat and referral business opportunities.
- Contact previous customers regarding trade opportunities, upgrades, promotions, and new product releases.
- Participate in dealership events, trade shows, ride days, open houses, and promotional activities.
- Develop relationships with riding clubs, community organizations, businesses, and local influencers.
- Create and maintain an active sales pipeline.
- Consistently seek opportunities to increase market share and customer retention.
3. Lead Management & CRM Accountability
Maintain accurate customer records and ensure all customer interactions are properly documented.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to all customer inquiries and leads.
- Maintain complete and accurate CRM records.
- Document all customer communication and sales activity.
- Schedule and complete follow-up activities as required.
- Maintain accurate notes, appointments, and customer information.
- Ensure all opportunities are properly tracked and managed.
- Follow dealership standards regarding CRM compliance and communication.
- Utilize CRM tools to maximize customer engagement and sales opportunities.
4. Customer Relationship Management
Deliver exceptional customer experiences and develop lifelong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Maintain consistent communication throughout the ownership process.
- Deliver a customer-focused sales experience.
- Generate customer referrals and repeat business.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Promote positive online reviews and customer satisfaction surveys.
- Support customer retention initiatives.
- Build relationships that encourage long-term loyalty to The Power Garage.
5. Product Knowledge & Demonstration
Maintain expert knowledge of dealership products and services.
Responsibilities
- Maintain current knowledge of all powersports products and related offerings.
- Understand manufacturer programs, incentives, promotions, and financing options.
- Maintain knowledge of competitor products and market trends.
- Demonstrate products safely and effectively.
- Present accessories, protection products, memberships, and ownership enhancements.
- Participate in manufacturer and dealership training programs.
- Continually improve product and industry knowledge.
6. Delivery & Follow-Up Responsibilities
Support dealership delivery processes and customer retention efforts.
Responsibilities
- Assist with delivery preparation and customer communication.
- Ensure all customer expectations are met prior to delivery.
- Participate in customer delivery appointments and orientations.
- Conduct required follow-up activities.
- Complete 24-hour and 6-month customer follow-up requirements.
- Support customer satisfaction and survey completion initiatives.
- Maintain relationships after the sale to encourage repeat business and referrals.
7. Showroom & Inventory Presentation
Maintain a professional dealership environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure products are properly merchandised and displayed.
- Maintain showroom appearance standards.
- Assist with inventory presentation and seasonal displays.
- Keep sales work areas clean, organized, and professional.
- Report inventory concerns and customer requests to management.
- Promote dealership presentation standards at all times.
8. EOS Accountability & Team Participation
Actively participate in the dealership's Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
Responsibilities
- Attend and actively participate in Level 10 (L10) meetings.
- Arrive prepared with updates, completed commitments, and solutions-oriented thinking.
- Contribute to IDS (Identify, Discuss, Solve) discussions.
- Complete assigned To-Dos on time.
- Understand and contribute to departmental and company Rocks.
- Support Scorecard reporting and accountability.
- Contribute ideas that improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and dealership profitability.
- Support dealership Core Values, Vision, and EOS processes.
9. Compliance & Professional Standards
Conduct all sales activities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, dealership policies, and ethical business practices.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an active OMVIC Salesperson Registration.
- Conduct all sales activities in compliance with OMVIC regulations and consumer protection legislation.
- Maintain complete and accurate deal documentation.
- Accurately disclose pricing, terms, products, and conditions.
- Protect customer privacy and confidential information.
- Follow dealership policies regarding ethical sales practices.
- Participate in required compliance, manufacturer, and dealership training.
- Maintain all licenses, registrations, and certifications required to perform the role.
10. Other Duties as Assigned
Perform additional duties and special projects as directed by the Sales Manager or General Manager.

Qualifications & Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Active OMVIC Salesperson Registration.
- Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to learn CRM systems, dealership software, and technology platforms.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal periods.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Powersports, Marine, RV, Automotive, or Retail Sales experience.
- Experience with CRM systems and dealership management software.
- Knowledge of finance and insurance products and processes.

Working Conditions
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and interact with customers.
- Operate powersports vehicles for demonstrations and customer education.

Pay: $45,000.00-$200,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
