Contract Lawyer – Claims Escalations (French Language)

About the Role
Epiq is seeking
Canadian-licensed Contract Lawyers fluent in French to support a long-term, remote claims escalation project. This role supports an Epiq claims department and focuses on responding to
escalated inquiries from potential class members that fall outside standard contact center scripts and protocols.
This is a
full-time contract engagement expected to last approximately
one year, with training provided at the start of the project.
Project Details
- Start Date: As early as the week of April 20, 2026
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day during standard business hours (e.g., 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.)
- Pay: CA$40/hour (flat rate, no premium for hours over 40 per week)
- Work Location: 100% Work From Home (Canada)
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to escalated claims related inquiries from potential class members in French
- Review and assess supporting documentation submitted by claimants
- Evaluate claims and escalation materials against provincial estate and claims requirements
- Determine whether submitted documents provide sufficient authority to file claims and/or receive settlement awards
- Assist class members in navigating the claims process and understanding documentation requirements
- Apply project specific guidelines, training materials, and protocols consistently
- Document claim decisions and escalation resolutions clearly and accurately
Required Qualifications
- Called to the bar in at least one Canadian province or territory
- Active and in good standing with the applicable law society
- Fluency in French (written and spoken)
- Ability to work full-time during standard Canadian business hours
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to follow structured protocols
Note: This project is available
only to candidates currently called to the bar and in good standing in Canada.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience with estate law or estate-related documentation
- Claims processing, class action administration, or legal review experience
- Experience working on large-scale, rules-driven legal or regulatory projects
