Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our wellness team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping clients achieve relaxation and relief from tension through therapeutic massage techniques. This role requires strong communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a serene environment.
Duties
- Perform various types of massage therapy, including Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage, tailored to individual client needs.
- Assess clients' physical conditions and discuss their health history to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate records of treatments provided and client progress.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when discussing client conditions with other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients before, during, and after treatments.
- Educate clients on the benefits of massage therapy and recommend self-care practices to enhance their wellness journey.
- Manage appointment scheduling and maintain an organized treatment area.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure or certification in massage therapy is required.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to anatomy and physiology.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and understand their needs.
- Proven customer service skills with a focus on creating positive client experiences.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Previous experience in a spa or wellness center is preferred but not mandatory.
