Dawson Creek Veterinary Clinic is growing and is excited to welcome a full-time Mixed Animal Receptionist to our team.
The successful candidate will bring a strong customer-service mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask with confidence and calm. An agricultural or farm background is considered a strong asset. As the first point of contact for our clients, our receptionists play a vital role in creating a welcoming, efficient, and positive experience for both clients and patients.
Position Overview
The receptionist is responsible for providing front-desk support in both our large and small animal clinics. From greeting clients with a friendly smile to coordinating appointments and supporting our veterinary team, this role is integral to the daily operations of the clinic.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform opening and closing duties to support smooth clinic operations
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients in person, by phone, and by email
- Schedule appointments and maintain an organized and accurate appointment calendar
- Complete data entry and maintain detailed and accurate records
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front entrance and exam rooms
- Stock pet food and retail shelves as needed
- Ensure clients and patients feel comfortable throughout their visit
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Previous experience in customer service, reception, or administration preferred
- Previous veterinary clinic experience or graduation from a Veterinary Office Assistant program is highly desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Friendly, positive, and compassionate attitude toward clients and their pets
- Ability to think critically and remain calm under pressure
- Ability to follow direction and clinic protocols accurately
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Availability
- Monday to Friday shifts
- Availability between 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- Full-time position
