We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Decedent Transport Driver to assist with the removal and transport of deceased individuals from homes, hospitals, care facilities, and other locations to funeral homes or medical facilities.
This position involves direct, hands-on work with deceased individuals and attending scenes where a death has occurred. Applicants must be comfortable working in the death care field and able to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and respect.
This is an on-call, commission-based role serving Saskatoon and surrounding rural areas.
Position Details
- Role: Decedent Transport Driver
- Location: Saskatoon
- Schedule: On-call, most days available
- Shift structure: 19:00 – 19:00 on-call rotation.
- 1 WEEKDAY CANDIDATE AND 1 WEEKEND CANDIDATE NEEDED
- Pay: Per call / commission
- Start date: Immediate
Key Duties
- Transport deceased individuals from residences, hospitals, care homes, and other locations
- Lift and move human remains using proper equipment and safe technique
- Work in environments involving death, grief, and medical situations
- Complete required transport documentation
- Communicate professionally with funeral homes, medical staff, and families
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism
Requirements
- Must be comfortable working directly with deceased individuals
- Must be physically able to lift and move with a partner
- Must be reliable and able to respond to calls on short notice
- Valid driver’s license with clean record
- Professional, calm, and respectful demeanor
- Able to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts
- Willing to learn and follow detailed procedures
