Ember Care is a new home care agency serving Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and nearby communities, and we're hiring certified Personal Support Workers for our founding team. If you're a PSW who's tired of being rushed, underpaid, or asked to work outside your scope — this is a different kind of place to work.
What you'd do
Deliver personal care in clients' own homes, to a clear, nurse-reviewed plan:
- Bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting support
- Transfers and mobility assistance — within the category you're trained and signed off for, with the equipment named in the plan
- Meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship
- Medication reminders (we remind — never administer, pour, or dose)
- Careful observation and honest visit notes that keep the whole care team informed

Who we're looking for
- A PSW certificate from an Ontario college or an NACC-accredited program
- Compassion, reliability, and sound judgment
- Comfortable working independently in clients' homes
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C an asset (required before some assignments — we'll help you get current)
- A valid driver's licence is an asset

- $21–$25/hour, based on your experience and certifications and reviewed twice a year
- Paid travel time between clients, plus mileage at the CRA rate
- Dementia-certification costs reimbursed after you complete probation; your safe-transfer training, safety, and privacy orientation are paid from day one

An honest word about hours
We're new and growing. Personal-care hours start flexible and build with our client base, so this suits a PSW who wants quality part-time or casual work to grow into. We won't promise guaranteed full-time from day one.
