We are looking for a talented Pastry Cook to make different types of baked goods and who is passionate about baking. You should be able to follow instructions and work with a high level of attention to detail. Knowledge of health and safety rules in the kitchen is very important. We expect you to work quickly and efficiently.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and baking tools
- Bake various pastries according to specific recipes (e.g. cupcakes, cookies)
- Clean up all workstations and kitchen equipment before closing time
- Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly
- Use proper equipment (e.g. mixers, ovens, blenders)
- Ensure that all food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Capable of scooping cupcakes and cookies quickly and efficiently for a good length of time
- Be at ease to lift 20kg bags
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Maintain a positive attitude towards your coworkers and management
Skills
- Proven experience as a Pastry cook
- Excellent knowledge of various baked goods (e.g. cupcakes, cookies, scones, loaves)
- Aptitude in using kitchen equipment including mixers, blenders and ovens
- Good time-management skills
- Decorating skills (piping icing on cupcakes) - A MUST!
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- High school diploma or equivalent; diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
