We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty commercial vehicles to transport freight efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries, uphold safety standards, and maintain excellent customer service. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight over long and short distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as pallet jack when necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, including delivery logs, manifests, and inspection reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and warehouse personnel to coordinate pickups and drop-offs
- Ensure freight is secured properly to prevent damage during transit and handle any issues or delays proactively
Requirements
- Must be in Canada on valid permit with ability to cross US borders. Applicant outside Canada will not be considered at this time.
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record and at least proven 6 months experience in commercial driving
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment including dryvan, reefers and flatbeds
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols for transporting goods
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshoot vehicle issues as needed
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and inspection processes
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks safely
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively
