About the Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and comfortable working with financial data while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures. The role will focus on month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, financial documentation, and preparation of reports.
Location: Quispamsis, New Brunswick, Canada
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
What You’ll Do:
Financial reporting and month-end processes
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including variance analysis and related reporting.
- Compile supporting documentation for financial statements.
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate, compliant financial records.
- Manage core accounting functions, including journal entry accuracy and general ledger maintenance.
- Process accounting transactions, reconciliations, and reports with accuracy and timeliness.
- Review financial data to ensure consistency and reliability.
Financial Analysis & Reporting Support
- Assist in preparing financial reports and internal dashboards.
- Support KPI tracking and provide financial insights to leadership.
- Contribute to audit preparation and related documentation.
Collaboration & External Partnerships
- Partner with internal teams to resolve financial inquiries and enhance accounting processes.
- Coordinate with external accounting partners to support accurate reporting.
- Assist financial leadership in maintaining effective financial controls.
- Provide support on additional accounting and finance tasks as required.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of accounting experience, with hands-on experience in month-end and year-end close processes is required.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Strong understanding of general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of financial reporting and compliance practices.
- Ability to identify process improvements and support financial efficiency.
- Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Reliable and punctual.
