Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Mechanic Helper / Shop Cleaner to join our automotive service team. This role involves assisting with vehicle repairs, maintenance tasks, and shop cleaning duties to ensure a safe, efficient, and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn. Prior dealership or mechanic experience is a plus, but we provide training for the right candidate. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in automotive repair while supporting our skilled technicians.
Responsibilities
- Assist mechanics with vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks using hand tools and power tools
- Perform basic mechanical work such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid top-offs
- Maintain cleanliness of the shop by sweeping, mopping, and organizing tools and equipment
- Handle heavy lifting of parts and equipment safely and efficiently
- Support the team in moving vehicles or parts around the shop as needed
- Ensure all work areas are safe, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional attitude when interacting with clients or visitors
- Support sales efforts by providing assistance during vehicle inspections or customer inquiries when necessary
Experience
- Dealership experience or previous mechanic experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair and maintenance
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds)
- Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor
- Basic understanding of automotive systems and repair processes is advantageous
- Prior experience in maintenance or shop cleaning roles is beneficial but not mandatory

Pay: $17.43-$30.68 per hour
