Delta Chi Early Childhood Centres is seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Child Care Supervisor (RECE) to lead our team in providing exceptional early learning and care in accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA) and How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years.
About the Role
The Child Care Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the licensed childcare centre, ensuring compliance with all Ministry of Education licensing requirements while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children, families, and staff.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Be a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Have a minimum of two years of experience working in a licensed childcare setting (supervisory experience is considered an asset).
- Demonstrate knowledge of the CCEYA, Ministry of Education licensing requirements, and How Does Learning Happen?
- Hold a valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
- Provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Possess strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Be proficient with electronic childcare documentation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the licensed childcare centre.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with the CCEYA, Ministry licensing requirements, health and safety legislation, and centre policies.
- Support, mentor, and supervise educators while promoting a positive workplace culture.
- Develop and maintain strong, respectful relationships with children, families, staff, community partners, and Ministry representatives.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, enrolment, and occupancy.
- Monitor program quality and support curriculum development using an emergent, play-based approach.
- Conduct staff observations, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and licensing requirements.
- Respond professionally to parent inquiries and concerns.
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
