Lulu Island Winery is the largest winery in the Metro Vancouver area. We welcome visitors from all around the world to share our passion for BC wine.
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting shoppers with wine selection, and maintaining an organized and inviting store environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop sales skills and gain experience in retail operations, including merchandising and cash handling. Multilingual abilities and knowledge of wine and hospitality businesses are a plus, helping us serve a diverse customer base effectively.
Listed pay is a starting rate, not including tips (100% of tips received by each staff member, no company tip-out) and monthly performance-based bonuses after the probation period. Final remuneration offer will depend on candidate's experience.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products or answering inquiries about our wines and other products
- Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions, including cashiering and cash handling
- Maintain store displays through merchandising and ensure products are well-stocked and organized
- Provide product recommendations based on customer needs, leveraging knowledge of wine, hospitality businesses, and prior customer service in the luxury lifestyle space
- Process online orders and support marketing initiatives to enhance customer shopping experience
- Assist in inventory management, including stock replenishment and organizing merchandise
- Support customers with multilingual communication skills when applicable
- Uphold cleanliness standards within the store environment to ensure a safe and welcoming shopping space
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems, cashiering, and cash handling procedures
- Strong customer service and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse shoppers
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques, merchandising, and organizational skills to optimize store presentation
- Experience or interest in landscape maintenance, gardening, horticulture, or related fields is desirable
- Ability to work well in a team environment while demonstrating flexibility across various tasks
- Familiarity with basic computer software
- Excellent organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain store standards
- Fluency in English, multilingual skills is an asset
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, and routinely lift up to 30 pounds
- Reliability as a dependable and punctual hard-worker motivated to approach tasks with intention and care
- A current Serving It Right certificate
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
