Electrogas is an expanding Safety Equipment company which specializes in Gas Detection and Safety Supplies across Canada. We are looking for mature individuals with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a professional, fast-paced environment to join our team.

We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and motivated Field Service Technician operating out of our Calgary branch.
Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Diagnose, calibrate, install, maintain, and repair gas detection equipment and associated signalling devices.
- Troubleshoot control wiring, electrical systems, and related equipment.
- Collaborate with HVAC, refrigeration, and other trades to ensure proper system operation.
- Maintain accurate service records, including materials used, labour hours, and service documentation.
- Adhere to all company, quality, and safety standards.
- Complete deficiency reports for quotation and estimation purposes.
- Schedule and communicate effectively with customers and site contacts.
- Manage field service inventory and perform required data entry.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation schedule, as required.
- Perform onsite service work at customer locations throughout Western Canada, including Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
- Travel, overnight stays, extended shifts, evenings, and occasional weekends may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and Management.
Qualifications:
- Must be eligible to register as an apprentice through Skilled Trades Alberta/Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT)
- Electrical field experience is required.
- Commercial and/or residential construction experience is considered an asset.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
- Familiarity with HVAC equipment and ventilation systems is considered an asset.
- Previous experience with gas detection equipment is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Computer literate with proficiency in basic software applications.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional attitude.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
- Ability to manage scheduling and service calls independently.
This position provides valuable on-the-job training within a professional setting, supporting career growth for aspiring electricians in the industrial sector.
Experience:
- Registered Electrical Apprentice (1st, 2nd, or 3rd Year).
- Experience with gas detection equipment is considered an asset.
- Understanding of electrical controls, control wiring, signalling devices, and troubleshooting is considered a strong asset.
- Electronics-based knowledge and troubleshooting experience are considered significant assets.
- Strong customer service focus with the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships
- Gas detection equipment: 1 year (preferred)
- Electrical Apprentice (1st or 2nd year)
- Clean Class 5 License (required)
