JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior GIS Analyst to support and advance the production of sophisticated geographic, demographic, and market intelligence that informs commercial real estate strategy and decision making.
In this senior role, you will work independently and collaboratively with other GIS professionals to analyze, process, and manage large, complex geospatial datasets. You will play a key role in shaping best practices for spatial data management, automation, QA/QC, and analytical workflows. The position requires strong logical thinking, organization, and technical depth, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.This role is ideal for a GIS professional who stays current with emerging GIS trends, AI applications, data automation, and big data technologies, and who enjoys improving systems, workflows, and outcomes - not just producing maps.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the creation of high-quality cartographic and analytical deliverables using the ESRI platform, including advanced static maps, interactive web maps, dashboards, and applications.
Analyze and manage large-scale geospatial and demographic datasets, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and performance across workflows.
Design, implement, and maintain ETL workflows to extract, transform, and integrate data from multiple internal and external sources using tools such as FME and Python.
Apply and enforce best practices for spatial data governance, including metadata standards, data models, version control, update strategies, and QA/QC protocols.
Proactively research and evaluate new datasets, tools, and technologies (including AI/ML in GIS) to improve analytical capability and efficiency.
Develop and maintain reusable data products, templates, scripts, and standardized deliverables to support consistent output across regions and projects.
Support the ongoing maintenance and optimization of enterprise geospatial databases used in commercial real estate analysis.
Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentorship to junior or intermediate GIS team members as needed.
Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to identify analytical needs and deliver solutions that support client and business objectives.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and proposing scalable, automated solutions.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned in support of the overall success of the GIS and Location Intelligence team.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Geomatics, Spatial Data Science, or a related field.
5+ years of progressive professional GIS experience, including work with complex datasets and production environments.
Technical Expertise
Advanced proficiency with the ESRI platform (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, web applications, services, and data management).
Strong experience with spatial data analysis, data modeling, and geospatial workflows.
Demonstrated experience working with large, multi-source datasets and enterprise data environments.

HIGHLY DESIRED/KEY ASSETS
Strong hands-on experience with FME for enterprise-level data transformation and automation.
Experience using ArcGIS API for Python to automate workflows, manage content, and support web GIS operations.
Solid understanding of big data concepts, scalable data processing, and performance considerations.
Demonstrated awareness or application of AI/ML in GIS, spatial analytics, or advanced data processing techniques.
Experience integrating GIS with enterprise databases, data warehouses, or cloud-based data platforms.
Exposure to 3D data, spatial modeling, or advanced analytical methods is an asset.
Knowledge of commercial real estate (CRE) data, metrics, and market analysis strongly preferred.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong cartographic design sense, spatial awareness, and understanding of visual best practices.
Ability to interpret and synthesize complex data, charts, and analytical outputs.
Proficiency with spreadsheet, presentation, and documentation tools.
Ability to apply mathematical and statistical concepts to analytical tasks.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Works with a high degree of independence while aligning with departmental standards and objectives. Responsible for planning and executing assigned analytical and production tasks, including setting timelines and priorities. Decisions and outputs may have moderate to significant impact on team deliverables, data quality, and client outcomes.
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The salary being offered for this position is $74,000-$82,000 annually.
