The Opportunity
Reporting to the Supervisor of Transit Assets and Services, the Auto Body Repairer is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and refinishing transit vehicles to ensure safe, reliable fleet operations. This role involves body repair, painting, inspection, and maintenance of vehicle components and related equipment in a safety-focused environment.
What You’ll Do

Inspect vehicles and estimate repair costs.

Repair and refinish damaged vehicle bodies and components, including painting.

Disassemble and reassemble vehicle components as required for repairs.

Complete work orders using a computerized Fleet Management System.

Maintain accurate repair records and parts inventory.

Service electronic fareboxes and associated equipment, as required.

Follow all safety policies and applicable legislation.

Perform other related duties as required.
What You’ll Bring

Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12).

Valid Ontario Auto Body Repair and Collision Repairer Technician Licence (310B).

Minimum two (2) years of body shop repair and painting experience.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Knowledge of WHMIS, automotive electrical systems, and repair manuals.

Basic computer skills in a Windows environment.

Valid Class G driver’s licence with acceptable driving record; ability to obtain Class DZ licence.

Strong communication skills and commitment to safety.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required.

Development opportunity rate of pay: $37.74 per hour. The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced rate until the minimum qualifications have been met.
