We are currently seeking temporary Hole Watch Labourers to join our team. This is a safety-focused role that requires strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in an active industrial or mining environment. Successful candidates will be responsible for monitoring personnel working in confined spaces and supporting safe work practices on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a dedicated hole watch/attendant for confined space and restricted access work areas.
- Monitor workers entering and exiting confined spaces and maintain accurate entry/exit records.
- Maintain continuous communication with workers, supervisors, and emergency response personnel as required.
- Ensure all confined space permits, procedures, and safety requirements are followed.
- Monitor work areas for potential hazards and immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Prevent unauthorized personnel from entering restricted work areas.
- Communicate effectively using two-way radio in a busy site environment.
- Assist with general labour duties when not actively assigned to hole watch responsibilities.
- Follow all site safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
- Work safely around heavy equipment and active construction or mining operations while maintaining high situational awareness.
- Support emergency response procedures in the event of an incident.
Position Requirements
- Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
- Previous industrial, construction, mining, confined space, hole watch, fire watch, or labour experience is required.
- Valid Confined Space and Fall Protection Certification.
- Excellent situational awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and remain alert throughout the duration of a shift.
- Effective verbal communication skills and ability to use two-way radios.
- Comfortable working rotating day and night shifts.
- Prior camp experience considered an asset.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, heat, and winter conditions.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a 12-hour shift.
- Strong ability to follow procedures and complete documentation accurately.
- Must be able to pass all required pre-employment and site-access screenings.
- Must hold a valid Class 5 driver's licence with reliable transportation.
- Must have reliable transportation to Vanderhoof, or Prince George.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.

Pay: $27.50 per hour
