Overview
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter to join our construction team. This role involves a broad range of responsibilities, requiring a strong foundation in carpentry. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with hand and power tools, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects including framing, siding, roofing, flooring installation, cabinetry, and more. Candidates should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of heavy lifting and working in physically demanding environments.
Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute construction projects accurately
- Install cabinetry, flooring (including hardwood and tile), siding, roofing, and other building components
- Assist with electrical wiring, plumbing installations, caulking, and construction painting as needed
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and efficiently
- Assemble components and fixtures according to specifications
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining adherence to safety protocols
- Follow schematics and technical instructions to ensure quality workmanship across all trades involved
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule while maintaining high safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction-related fields, specifically carpentry
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and schematic interpretation
- Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools used in construction tasks
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Experience with electrical wiring or plumbing installations would be considered an asset
- Multi-trade skills are highly valued
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining safety standards
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on quality workmanship
