Indirect Tax Analyst
Location: Hybrid – Remote / Oakville
Work Schedule: Working schedule for all staff is per management direction. Currently the requirement working from the client location 3 days per week.
Pay Rate: 50k/yr.
Transportation: Must own or have regular access to a car
Work Term: Parental Leave coverage August 14, 2026, to March 31, 2027

As an Indirect Tax Analyst, you will handle indirect tax data gathering, analysis and reporting within the client’s environment. The position reviews and analyzes data while interpreting and communicating results effectively. You will provide support to indirect tax teams by providing regular and ad hoc reports and findings. Along with the responsibilities and requirements specific to this role, the Indirect Tax Analyst is expected to abide by and encourage the Client’s Code of Conduct, helping to strengthen a trusting and positive work environment.
This role in our organization reports directly to the onsite Senior Manager, and to the Director, Indirect Tax at the client location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparation of Canadian Indirect Tax Returns for a complex group of companies.
- Indirect Tax reporting that tracks business performance.
- Analytical support to budgeting and forecasting and audit processes.
- Conduct ad-hoc indirect tax reporting and analysis, as required. Accurately interpret and communicate results.
- Provide support in analyzing tax account variances, and changes to tax cost trends.
- Work cross-functionally with various teams to discuss reporting outcomes.
- Analyze trends to highlight potential areas of opportunity for the company.
- Assess and develop processes and documentation to support various indirect tax functions.
- Engage in various government reporting requirements.
- Interface with Provincial and/or Federal agencies via telephone or email to resolve any outstanding matters
- Other appropriate responsibilities relevant to the role today, and the role as it may evolve.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Avid analytical skills, Creativity, Curiosity, and a strong work ethic is essential
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, with an interest in the use of AI
- Ability to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts from large data sets to achieve meaningful conclusions.
- Experience with Accounting Software such as SAP, ERP, or similar.
- Research skills are an asset.
- Excellent English communication skills
- Strong business acumen with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks with a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Superb organizational time management, coupled with the ability to work on and manage multiple projects at once.
- Strong problem identification, and resolution skills.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a similar field.
- Enrollment, or intention to enroll, with CPA Ontario to attain designation is an asset
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferred.
