Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for delivering structural engineering solutions for a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The successful candidate will perform structural analysis and design, prepare engineering calculations, technical drawings, and construction specifications, and ensure all designs comply with applicable building codes, engineering standards, and client requirements. Responsibilities include reviewing and coordinating CAD drawings, developing structural documentation, and providing technical support throughout all phases of a project—from initial design through permit approval and construction.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for civil and structural projects
- Prepare technical drawings, calculations, and specifications
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee and coordinate projects from design through construction support
- Collaborate with other engineers, drafters, and technologists across the studio
- Maintain project timelines and budgets, flagging risks early
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and municipal authorities as needed
- Contribute to delivering high-quality, efficient engineering solutions across a range of building types
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in civil/structural engineering
- Proficiency in Civil Engineering Design and Civil Engineering principles
- Expertise in Structural Analysis and Structural Engineering concepts
- Project management skills, including managing timelines, budgets, and effective communication
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory codes and standards
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a related discipline)
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is an asset
- Experience with structural design software such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, or similar tools
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and collaborative skills
