Essential Duties:
The position of Production Line Operator (MUST BE LOCATED IN OTTAWA) for the chemical manufacturing department executes the production plan, as communicated by the Plant Supervisor, in a safe and efficient manner, and produces a high-quality product.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the execution of the chemical production plan in any of the areas listed below as defined and assigned by the Plant Supervisor
- Operating the Equipment in Sweeping Compound:
o Following established compounding formulas
o Filling, labeling, sealing, and palletizing 22kg, 100kg, and 135kg containers with finished sweeping compound for sales to our customers
- Operating Chemical Fill Lines
o Loading empty bottles onto filling conveyor
o Operating the filling unit by selecting the appropriate fill formula
o Adjusting fill machine for different container sizes
o Connecting Chemical hoses to the filling machine as necessary to select and fill the appropriate chemical
o Monitor the filling machine and take appropriate action when necessary
o Monitor the labeling machine to ensure proper adhesion of chemical labels
o Load labels as needed
o Monitor and set up the date coding device when necessary
o Package chemical products into erected boxes and ensure the proper labeling and sealing of the box - HEAVY LIFTING CONTINUOUS UPTO 50 LBS
o Palletize finished goods for warehouse storage - HEAVY LIFTING CONTINUOUS UPTO 50 LBS
o Preparing the fill lines for operation by rinsing, cleaning, adjusting, and performing all necessary set-up work required to fill chemicals
o Fill out any necessary paperwork to record work performed
o Monitor the product fill quantities and weights versus established standards and communicate any deviations with the Plant Supervisor, or the Technical Manager
o Make any necessary quality adjustments as requested by the Plant Supervisor or the Technical Manager
o Maintain a safe and clean working environment
o Collect and take out production related garbage when needed or as requested
o Participate in inventory counts, general workplace cleanliness & organization activities as assigned
o Committed to safe behavior and practices while on company premises or engaged in company related work
o Participate in safety related activities (investigations, training, committees, etc.) when requested to do so or as a volunteer
- Any other functions assigned by your supervisor or a member of Management which at times may mean working in different departments or divisions of Dustbane as needed this includes the Shipping and Receiving department.
· Pick customer orders and prepare for shipping
· Transfer materials/finished goods between divisions
· Restocking picking bins
· Loading and unloading of transport carriers
Education:
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Experience in an industrial production environment
· Experience in a physically demanding environment a plus
· Experience with material handling equipment such as powered walkies, pallet jacks, and forklifts
· Forklift license, TDG & WHIMS training a plus (nice to have)
Physical Requirements:
· This position requires prolonged standing and walking
· Must be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day (Very Important)
o Day Shift: Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:30pm
o This is an hourly position based on full-time hours Monday to Friday on a regular basis. Production hours can vary depending on depending on demand. Dustbane reserves the right to amend the hours of work to meet the needs of the business and our customers
o Hours of work are subject to change based on operational requirements.

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
