Overview:
The Shop Coordinator will play a key role in managing the daily operations of our maintenance shop. This position requires a high level of organization, communication, and technical knowledge. The ideal candidate will have experience with Freightliner, Volvo, and Mac trucks, as well as a strong understanding of the shop management software MIR Datadis. This individual will coordinate maintenance activities, manage work orders, track inventory, and ensure that the fleet is operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily maintenance and repair activities for the shop, ensuring timely and efficient work completion.
- Manage and track using the MIR Datadis system.
- Communicate with drivers, mechanics, and operations teams to schedule maintenance and repairs, minimizing downtime.
- Ensure accurate recording and reporting of vehicle repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and ensure that the fleet is in optimal working condition.
- Oversee parts ordering and inventory management, ensuring availability of required parts for ongoing repairs.
- Maintain knowledge of Freightliner, Volvo, and Mac truck systems and specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections of shop equipment and ensure compliance with company standards and policies.
- Assist with budget management for the shop, including cost tracking for labor, parts, and external services.
- Work closely with external vendors for specialized services as needed (e.g., engine rebuilds, transmission repairs).
- Provide daily updates to management regarding shop performance and fleet condition.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of Freightliner, Volvo, and Mac trucks.
- Proficiency with shop management software (experience with MIR Datadis is highly preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and fleet compliance standards.
- Valid driver's license; commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus.
