Job Overview
The Kamloops Surgical Centre (KSC) is seeking a perioperative Registered Nurse who is comfortable with all roles in the operating room and with a variety of surgeries and services. We are offering a permanent role at 0.8 FTE, working Monday to Thursday with no nights, no evenings and no on-call shifts. Duties
- Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for procedures
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures, maintaining strict adherence to sterile techniques
- Monitor patient vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout surgeries, responding promptly to any changes
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians
- Document all patient care activities accurately
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including patient education on recovery processes and discharge instructions
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- Current, valid registration with BCCNM
- Operating Room Certification (AORN or equivalent)
- BLS (preferred)
- ACLS (preferred)
- PALS (preferred)
Pay: From $57.00 per hour
