Duties and responsibilities:
The Systems Administrator will ensure for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for critical enterprise systems.
Duties include:

Evaluates the day-to-day operations of SaskAbilities’ technology operations by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.

Develops new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures.

Establishes, maintains and manages user accounts. Installs, modifies and maintains systems and utility software on server computer systems.

Assists in developing procedures to maintain security and protect systems optimizing cloud solutions.
-
Establishes guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the server operating systems, disk arrays, fiber channel switches, and network components.

Develops tools, procedures, and training sessions.
-
Monitors the data center and computer systems including hardware, software and equipment such as air-conditioning system, UPS (uninterrupted power system) and fire protection system.

Participates in the development and implementation of standards of computer use.
Qualifications:
Education:
-
Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
-
A combination of education and experience may be considered.
-
Network or server administration certification considered an asset.
Skills:
-
Programming languages and operating systems.
-
Server and systems administration with hybrid environments.
-
Enterprise backup and recovery procedures.
-
Perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively.

Good oral communication skills with previous customer service experience.
