Safa & Marwa is a private not-for-profit Islamic school in its 28th year of operation, located in central Mississauga. Safa & Marwa School is registered by the Ontario Ministry of Education and offers a fully accredited program from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12.
We are currently seeking a qualified High School Physics & Computer Science Teacher.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating approachability and professionalism when engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, growing school environment, showing flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, including current pedagogical practices and assessment strategies relevant to senior Physics and Computer Science courses.
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning, including active research and development within the fields of science, technology, and education.
- Strong classroom management skills, including the ability to maintain a structured and engaging learning environment while enforcing expectations consistently.
- Ability to integrate technology effectively into classroom instruction and support student learning through innovative teaching methods.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus a Bachelor of Education or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Understanding of Islamic values, practices, and school culture, with the ability to support and respect the school’s mission and ethos.
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification is an asset, particularly in Senior Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Teach High School Physics and Computer Science courses in accordance with the Ontario Curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans, assessments, labs, projects, and instructional materials that support student achievement and engagement.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, report cards, and parent-teacher interviews.
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative learning skills within the classroom.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, pedagogical discussions, and student success initiatives as part of the high school and full faculty team.
- Perform a designated number of supervisory and administrative duties in addition to teaching responsibilities.
- Attend all faculty meetings and assist with open houses, school events, and extracurricular activities wherever possible.
- Support students academically, socially, and spiritually in alignment with the school’s values and mission.
