We service a diverse range of vehicles, from heavy trucks to light-duty gas and diesel units, delivering reliable, high-quality solutions tailored to each customer's needs. Our team provides mobile repair and maintenance services for most vehicle classes, along with in-shop repairs for passenger vehicles and pickups. Position Overview
Universal Fleet Management & Repair is seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic for a casual, on-call position. This role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to work both in the shop and on customer sites.
The successful candidate will perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a broad range of fleet vehicles, including heavy trucks, light-duty gas vehicles, and diesel-powered equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled maintenance and preventive service.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety-related issues.
- Complete repair estimates and communicate findings clearly.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts requirements, and timelines.
- Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of automotive or fleet repair experience.
- Red Seal Certification preferred.
- Strong background in vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
- Experience working on gas and diesel powertrains, brake systems, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, service manuals, and repair procedures.
- Familiarity with modern diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Previous fleet, commercial vehicle, or heavy-duty experience is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
- Must provide tools.

Pay: From $36.00 per hour

Education:
