We focus on high-quality hardwoods, sheet goods, and woodworking materials, and we run a clean, organized, and friendly shop where customers can plan and build great projects.
Position Overview:
We are hiring a Woodworking Shop Sales Associate who loves wood, tools, and shop talk. What You'll Do:
- Greet woodworkers, DIYers, and contractors and help them choose the right lumber, hardwoods, plywood, and supplies for their projects.
- Advise on species, grades, dimensions, and quantities (BDFT) to fit the customer's project and budget.
- Pull orders, measure and cut/bundle lumber, and help customers safely load material into their vehicles.
- Keep the shop and yard organized: restock racks, face products, sweep, and maintain a clean, safe work area.
- Operate our POS system to process sales, print labels, and handle basic computer tasks.
- Help with inventory counts, tagging, and restocking to keep our stock numbers accurate.
- Represent Kingma Lumber's standard for friendly, knowledgeable service on every interaction.

- You're comfortable on your feet and able to lift and move lumber and sheet goods throughout the day.
- You take pride in an organized, clean shop.

- You're reliable, punctual, and a good teammate in a small, tight-knit crew.
Requirements:
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving lumber and building materials safely.
- Comfortable using a computer and POS system; willing to learn our processes.
- Basic knowledge of wood species, lumber dimensions, and common woodworking projects is a strong asset.
- Previous experience in a lumber yard, hardware store, woodworking shop, or cabinet shop is a plus but not required if you have genuine woodworking interest.
