Project Coordinator
Garneau Manufacturing Inc., an established Fabrication company in Morinville, is currently looking for a full-time Project Coordinator. The position is primarily an office role Monday through Friday and will provide opportunities for personal growth and advancement based on the skill set and previous experience of the individual. Education, Skills and Experience:
· Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in a Fabrication/Manufacturing environment, primarily in structural steel.
· Preference will be given to candidates who have direct experience with CNC equipment including (but not limited to) Beamline, Coping and Plasma Cutter.
· Experience with different structural material grade, shape and size is required.
· Experience with reviewing structural steel drawings to determine project requirements for ordering and nesting materials is preferred.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Good computer skills with the ability to master project management software. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Work with shop personnel to ensure steel and consumables are ordered on a timely basis.
- Work with CNC operators to ensure shop drawings/files are complete prior to project commencement.
- Work with Project Management to ensure nesting of materials is completed in a timely fashion.
- Administer project functions such as schedule, communications and planning meetings with Project Management and Shop Fabrication team to ensure timely delivery of projects for the client.
- Review structural design and shop drawings to ensure developed plans meet quality standards.
- Assist in capturing change management initiatives and other project management functions.
This position is ideal for someone with significant structural steel and CNC equipment experience but wanting to move into more of an office environment. Potential salary will be based on the structural steel experience and educational background of the candidate.
