Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Mechanic to join our team. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting various makes and models of forklifts. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with automotive repair, electrical systems, and the use of hand and power tools. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on forklifts.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs including welding, assembly, replacement of parts, and system adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized maintenance equipment to carry out repairs efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repair logs for each piece of equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting complex mechanical problems and perform necessary repairs promptly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize urgent repairs.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, or similar industrial machinery.
- Dealership experience is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with automotive repair, welding, electrical systems, schematics reading is advantageous.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and perform heavy lifting safely.
- Prior experience working with heavy equipment operation or assembly is beneficial.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills and customer service orientation is essential for success in this role.
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
