We have an immediate opening for motivated & hardworking Heavy-Duty Diesel Marine Mechanics based in Elmsdale, Nova Scotia to work along with our teams in Atlantic Canada.
Working closely with Shipyards, Maintenance managers, and manufacturer’s representatives, the Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic is responsible for representing Cores in inspecting, overhauling, maintaining, and commissioning all types of prime movers.
The ideal candidate can problem solve and articulate solutions. You seek to ensure repairs are completed quickly, efficiently, and safely. Attention to detail and the ability to spot potential problems is important. You work well independently and within a larger team when necessary.
Duties
As a Mechanic, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Assist in developing and implementing mechanical best practices to optimize efficiency.
· Conduct routine maintenance and overhaul work on marine and industrial medium speed diesel engines.
· Diagnose mechanical issues through thorough inspections and testing of equipment.
· Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
· Validate and adhere to any Class requirements.
· Maintain work logs, service reports, repair and maintenance records.
· Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
· Adhere to company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications
· 1-3 years in a Mechanical Role or related industry.
· Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in repair and maintenance.
· Proficiency in Heavy Equipment diagnostic and mechanical systems.
· Ability to multitask, prioritize deadlines, and handle responsibilities efficiently.
· Experience as a Mechanic across a wide variety of Diesel engines is a must.
· Must maintain a valid drivers license
· Proficiency with Mechanical Equipment, Electrical over Hydraulics, Electrical over Air is considered an asset.
· Ability to work spontaneous or irregular hours is an asset.
· Red Seal Mechanic or in related field is considered an asset.
· A valid passport and ability to travel is an asset.

WORK LOCATION:
Cores is based in Elmsdale, NS and works both locally and globally. Preference may be given to those able to travel internationally.
SECURITY:
Candidates must complete an RCMP Background Check and be able to obtain government security clearance as a condition of employment.
