Glen Hill Strathaven, part of the Durham Christian Homes community, is seeking Part Time Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our compassionate care team in Bowmanville.
This is an exciting time to join us as we continue to grow and prepare for the future Glen Hill Gardens redevelopment project, which will bring a modern long-term care community to Durham Region.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), the Personal Support Worker provides compassionate personal care and assistance with daily living activities to residents while supporting their dignity, independence, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care to residents according to established care plans
- Assist with activities of daily living including hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff
- Document care provided using assigned documentation systems
- Support residents’ comfort, safety, and participation in daily activities
- Maintain infection prevention and safety practices
Qualifications
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from a recognized college or educational institution
- Experience in long-term care or healthcare is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
