Keep the fleet that keeps the GTA moving
Just For Snow is one of the Greater Toronto Area's largest self-performing commercial snow and ice management and landscaping companies. We run with 100+ team members, 50+ crews, and a 12,000 sq ft facility, servicing over 20 million square feet of commercial property — and we do it with our own fleet of wheel loaders, plow trucks, salters, and equipment.
We're looking for a hands-on Heavy Equipment Mechanic to keep that fleet running strong through both seasons. If you like a busy shop, real equipment, and work that actually matters when the snow flies, this is your kind of role.
Why you'll like working here
- Year-round, full-time work — snow and ice in the winter, landscaping in the summer. No seasonal layoffs.
- A serious, modern fleet to work on: wheel loaders, plow and salt trucks, and small-engine equipment.
- Competitive hourly pay based on your experience and certification
- Health benefits (medical and dental).
- Annual company profit sharing
- Professional development and training support
- A growing, established company where good mechanics are valued and kept busy.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and repair wheel loaders — engines, hydraulics, drivetrain, electrical, and tires — and keep winter attachments (plows, pushers, buckets) storm-ready.
- Service and repair the truck fleet, including plow trucks and salt/spreader units, and keep them roadworthy and inspection-compliant.
- Maintain and repair small-engine and seasonal equipment — snow blowers, salt spreaders, mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults and turn repairs around quickly to keep equipment in service.
- Handle seasonal changeover, converting equipment between winter and summer setups.
- Do welding and minor fabrication, run preventive-maintenance schedules, keep service records, and manage shop parts and tooling.
- Work safely and keep the shop compliant (OHSA, lockout/tagout, WHMIS).
What you bring
- 3+ years as a heavy-equipment, diesel, or automotive mechanic — snow, construction, landscaping, or fleet experience is a strong plus.
- Ontario trade certification is an asset: Truck and Coach Technician (310T) or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (421A).
- Solid hands-on skills with hydraulics, diesel and small engines, electrical systems, and welding/fabrication.
- Comfortable with winter attachments (plows, pushers, salters) and seasonal equipment changeover.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence (DZ or AZ driver's license is an asset)
- Willing and able to be on call during winter snow events, and able to handle the physical demands of the role.
