Job Summary
Open Arms Early Childhood Centre in Barrie is seeking dedicated and flexible individuals to provide supply and lunch coverage. This role involves supporting classroom activities, assisting with child supervision, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to early childhood education while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic childcare setting.
Duties
- Supervise children during lunch and snack times, ensuring proper behavior and safety
- Support classroom activities and routines as needed during supply coverage
- Assist with meal preparation, serving, and clean-up in accordance with health and safety standards
- Engage with children through play, learning activities, and social interactions
- Collaborate with teaching staff to maintain a positive and organized classroom environment
- Support children with special needs or disabilities, fostering inclusive participation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and activity areas
- Follow all centre policies, procedures, and licensing requirements
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in early childhood education or childcare settings is preferred
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices
- Bilingual abilities in English and French are considered an asset
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is advantageous
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and staff
- Proficiency in computer operation, including basic classroom management software or documentation tools
- Classroom experience demonstrating organizational skills, time management, leadership, and writing skills are highly valued

Pay: $17.60-$22.00 per hour
