Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Framer to join our team for a full time contract position based in Gillam, Manitoba. This role requires travel and the ability to be away from home for the duration of the project.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in both wood and steel stud framing and have the expertise to perform restoration repairs and rebuilds with precision and quality. Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently within project timelines are essential.
Pay is based on experience and credentials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct and install wooden and steel stud framing as per architectural plans and specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, steel, and other materials for the construction of walls, floors, roofs, and other structural elements.
- Install windows, doors, and other framing components.
- Ensure the structural integrity and accuracy of the framework.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and framing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Work with other construction professionals, including electricians, plumbers, and carpenters, to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Follow building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of four years of experience in framing, including both wood and steel stud work.
- Experienced with construction methods, materials, and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform heavy lifting and standing for long periods.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be available to work in Northern Manitoba.
