Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrator to manage daily operations within a healthcare or dental office setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, experience with electronic medical records, and familiarity with medical or dental terminology. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to efficient office management, support clinical staff, and ensure smooth patient or client interactions. Prior experience in medical or dental offices, along with supervisory capabilities, will be highly valued.
Duties
- Oversee and coordinate administrative functions within the office, including scheduling appointments and managing patient or client records.
- Utilize Dentrix or similar practice management software to maintain accurate billing, scheduling, and recordkeeping.
- Support human resources functions such as onboarding new staff, maintaining personnel files, and assisting with staff scheduling.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMRs) ensuring compliance with privacy laws and organizational policies.
- Assist in budgeting processes, tracking expenses, and managing supply inventories.
- Supervise administrative staff and coordinate workflow to optimize office productivity.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth communication between departments.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology relevant to the practice area, including hospital or nursing terminology if applicable.
- Support compliance with healthcare regulations and assist in preparing for audits or inspections.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental or medical office environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with Dentrix or similar practice management software is highly desirable.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) systems and medical terminology is essential.
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience in an administrative capacity is advantageous.
- Background in human resources functions within healthcare settings is a plus.
- Experience working in hospital environments, nursing facilities, or acute care settings can be beneficial for understanding complex workflows and regulatory requirements. This position requires a professional who is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining excellent communication skills.
Pay: $25.00-$34.00 per hour
