Description:
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor and Guest Experience Supervisor, the Operations Attendant-Landscaper is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the premises as well as supporting event execution. This role performs a variety of hands-on work including equipment set-up and take-down for special events booked at the facility, while working closely with the entire team to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all guests.
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program and is a full-time 8-week contract with primarily daytime hours. Following the contract period, there may be an opportunity to continue with the organization in a part-time capacity, based on organizational needs and performance.
Employment Terms & Perks:
· Starting wage range of $17.00 – $18.00/hour, depending on experience and performance
· Full-Time: 35 hours per week (primarily daytime hours, occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events)
· 8-week temporary full-time contract from the beginning of employment

Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs program:
· Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
· Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment
· Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment
· Must be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance
· Perform all maintenance duties related to the facility
· Ensure the cleanliness of the facility
· Replenish washroom supplies, remove trash, sweep, vacuum, mop and buff floors, clean windows, walls, light fixtures, and dust surfaces
· Maintain outside property including waste removal, landscaping, shrub bed maintenance, grass cutting/trimming, and snow removal when required
Event Support
· Assist in the set-up and take-down of tables, chairs, sporting equipment, and other facility items in preparation for meetings, sporting events, and special events in a timely manner
· During some events, assist in managing the parking lot to ensure proper utilization and capacity maintenance
· Support event execution alongside the operations and guest experience teams
Safety & Operations
· Develop a strong understanding of the facility layout, public and special event schedule, and emergency procedures
· Assist the team in the handling of emergency situations, as directed by the on-site supervisor

Skills & Abilities:
· Custodial, groundskeeping, maintenance, or event set-up experience is preferred and would be considered an asset
· Experience working in recreational, school, or community facility environments is considered an asset
· Ability to work in various weather conditions
· Able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks
· Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate fluently in English; multilingualism is considered an asset
· Aptitude for operating equipment efficiently and safely
· Strong awareness of safety and security; WHMIS and safe lifting training are considered assets
· Experience and knowledge of Intelligenz (recreation facility management software) or similar software is an asset
· Standard First Aid/CPR certification and Police Background Check required prior to employment
