Royal Machine Solutions is looking for a hands-on Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and build of custom conveyor systems, automation equipment, and industrial machinery.
This is not a desk-only engineering role.
You'll work directly with:
- Fabricators
- Machinists
- Assemblers
- Production personnel
- Real customer projects
You'll see firsthand how designs perform in manufacturing environments and gain experience that bridges the gap between engineering and production.

What You'll Be Doing
Mechanical Design
- Create and modify 3D CAD models using Fusion 360
- Assist with conveyor and custom equipment design
- Produce manufacturing and assembly drawings
- Support design revisions and engineering changes
- Improve designs for manufacturability and assembly
- Assist with project documentation and BOM creation
Manufacturing Support
- Work directly with fabrication and assembly teams
- Support equipment builds and testing
- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues
- Participate in shop measurements, fit-up, and validation
- Observe and learn machining, welding, and fabrication processes
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in Lean and 2 Second Lean initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and manufacturability
- Assist with process documentation and standardization

Qualifications
Required
- Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or similar education
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled student
- Strong attention to detail
- Mechanical aptitude and curiosity
- Ability to work both in an office and manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Assets
- Fusion 360 experience
- Co-op or internship experience
- Robotics, fabrication, or shop experience
- Understanding of engineering drawings and tolerancing
- Lean manufacturing exposure
- Conveyor or automation experience
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
