FB Canada Express has been a trusted leader in cross-border and international parcel clearance for over 40 years. As our business continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Time Critical Logistics Coordinator to join our growing operations team.
This role is ideal for a logistics professional with freight forwarding experience who excels in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage urgent, time-sensitive shipments. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and confident making operational decisions while coordinating with clients, carriers, airlines, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage domestic and international time-critical shipments from pickup through delivery.
- Arrange the most efficient transportation solutions using air, ground, and expedited freight services.
- Coordinate urgent shipments, including oversized, temperature-sensitive, and aircraft-related freight.
- Prepare, review, and process import, export, and customs documentation.
- Provide timely shipment updates to customers, carriers, drivers, airlines, and business partners.
- Monitor shipments to ensure all pickups, transfers, and deliveries are completed on schedule.
- Respond quickly to service disruptions and implement effective solutions to minimize delays.
- Prepare freight quotations for customers importing or exporting goods into Canada.
- Coordinate value-added services such as customs clearance, warehousing, and local transportation.
- Support daily operational activities and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Participate in a rotating 24-hour on-call schedule, approximately one week per month, including weekends.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics coordination, or a related transportation environment.
- Experience with air freight, expedited transportation, or time-critical logistics is strongly preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable making decisions under pressure and managing urgent situations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong command of the English language.
- Reliable, dependable, and willing to participate in the on-call rotation.
