Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support our Environmental Services team with facility upkeep and light repair projects. This role will focus on assisting with general maintenance tasks and supporting ongoing improvement projects within the facility. The shifts are from Aug 6 - Aug 20 and can be extended.
This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable performing hands-on work, including minor repairs, painting, and assisting with heavier tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic drywall repairs and patching
- Perform painting and touch-up work
- Replacing light bulbs/tube lights.
- Assembling furniture - Modifying existing furniture (cutting or resizing wooden counters, not granite).
- Help with moving items , Installing door sweeps and other physical tasks as required
- General maintenance and cleaning of the grounds
- Changing faucets and ceiling tiles
- Follow workplace safety and facility guidelines
Requirements:
- Previous experience in general maintenance, handyman work, or facility support preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, moving, and basic repair work
- Basic knowledge of drywall repair and painting
- Reliable and able to work weekend shifts consistently
- Recent Vulnerable Sector check
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $24.00 per hour
