Job Title: Production Associate – Cheese Cutter
Job Description
The Production Associate – Cheese Cutter plays a key role in a food manufacturing facility that produces yogurt and feta cheese. In this position, you carefully weigh and cut blocks of feta cheese to precise specifications before packaging, while following strict food safety and quality standards. You work on the production floor, contributing to efficient operations and consistent, high-quality products.
Responsibilities

Weigh and cut blocks of feta cheese accurately according to production and packaging requirements.

Use knives and other cutting tools safely to slice soft cheese by hand while maintaining consistent portion sizes.

Prepare cheese for packaging, ensuring products are correctly labeled and ready for further processing or shipment.

Assist with general production activities, including mixing ingredients into production machines for yogurt when required.

Perform basic machine operation tasks related to production and packaging, following established procedures.

Carry out quality inspection of products to ensure they meet food safety, weight, and appearance standards.

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all food safety guidelines at all times.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools and materials.

Adhere to safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and safe operation of equipment.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and resolve issues that may affect workflow.

Report any product defects, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns promptly to appropriate personnel.
Essential Skills

Minimum 1+ year of manufacturing experience, ideally within a food production environment.

Ability to stand for the duration of an 8-hour shift and lift up to 30 lbs throughout the shift.

Experience with general labor tasks in a production or manufacturing setting.

Ability to perform basic machine operation tasks safely and efficiently.

Experience with packaging and handling of products on a production line.

Ability to conduct quality inspection of products with attention to detail.

Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to standardized procedures.

Commitment to working safely and following all facility rules and guidelines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset.

Experience operating production or packaging machinery is considered an advantage.

Work Environment
This role is based in a food manufacturing facility with strict hygiene and safety standards. You work on your feet for most of an 8-hour shift in a production area where yogurt and feta cheese are processed and packaged. You are required to wear or bring socks, as boots are provided on site. Contact lenses, fingernail polish, false eyelashes, and jewelry are not permitted, and prescription glasses with jewels or embellishments are also prohibited to maintain product safety. The facility operates as a scent-free environment, and all team members must follow these policies along with Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety guideline
