Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Rig Manager to oversee well servicing operations in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, leadership abilities, familiar with a double rig, and extensive experience with heavy equipment and SAGD processes. As a key leader on-site, the Rig Manager will ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance across all rig activities, managing a team of operators and technicians to meet project goals.
Duties
- Supervise daily service operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards
- Coordinate with company consultant to plan a schedule effectively
- Oversee the operation of heavy equipment including, pump and tank unit, picker truck, dog house.
- Manage rigging activities and ensure proper setup and maintenance of service rig, equipment
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery such the rig, cranes, and other specialized tools
- Lead a team of technicians, and support staff, providing guidance and training as needed
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies throughout all operations
- Maintain detailed records of operational activities, equipment usage, and safety incidents
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Rig Manager or similar leadership role in the oil & gas
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and rigging procedures
- Hands-on experience with SAGD, double service rig techniques and equipment management
- Ability to operate or oversee operation of cranes, and other heavy machinery
- Valid commercial driver’s license preferred for transportation needs on-site or between locations. Must have air brake endorsement, 1 A license perfered
- Knowledge of safety standards specific to oil & gas well servicing operations
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively under pressure
- Relevant certifications in rigging, heavy equipment operation are highly desirable
