Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. This role requires a positive attitude, strong multitasking skills, and a passion for creating a welcoming environment for our customers. Previous experience in the food industry, especially as a barista, is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided. The position involves working in a fast-paced setting where attention to detail and excellent communication are essential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks following standardized recipes.
- Operate POS systems, including Square POS, accurately handling cash and credit transactions.
- Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including food preparation stations and dining space.
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures and safety standards.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without compromising quality.
- Restock supplies as needed and assist with inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Barista or in the Food Service industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
- Strong Customer Service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Basic Math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing transactions accurately.
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Square POS, is a plus.
- Excellent Time Management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours.
- Knowledge of Food Safety standards and proper Food Handling procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed.
