The Opportunity
We are looking for a Team Lead, Mental Health Services, to join our Health Team at CUPS. The Mental Health Team Lead will be responsible for providing daily mentorship and guidance to the Mental Health team under the leadership of the Manager of C2C, CAMPP, OAT, and Mental Health (‘the Manager’). This position will ensure that the program's daily operations are delivered to clients per CUPS service delivery models of Integrated and Trauma-Informed Care. This role will communicate and align team action with organization goals, support the team's effective performance, and maintain a practice of direct participant service. This role is a hybrid Team Lead/Counsellor position. In addition to leadership activities, the Team Lead will also see CUPS Counselling participants, (0.5 FTE Team Lead, 0.5 FTE Counselling support to participants)

- Contract type: Permanent
- Schedule: Full-time, Mon to Fri, 37.5 hours per week
- Starting salary: $65,621.70 -$69,086.53
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a compassionate, professional, and effective team via recruitment, training, and engagement strategies.
- Provide daily direction, workload planning, coaching, and performance management to the Mental Health team.
- Provide expert in-person and virtual individual and group clinical counselling services.
- Provide culturally aware support to clients, remaining conscious of diversity and power dynamics.
- Maintain all ethics, competency, and developmental standards required by your professional regulatory body.
- Maintain accurate progress notes, assessments, and client documentation in strict alignment with privacy protocols.
- Champion worker Health & Safety through the execution of the CUPS Health and Safety Program.
- Conduct file and database audits to ensure holistic documentation in alignment with accreditation standards.
- Provide direct participant consultation and guidance in collaboration with the Clinical Supervisor.
- Ensure data integrity for evaluation teams and produce program reports as requested.
- Monitor and approve program expenses to ensure alignment with the department budget.
- Support staff with critical incidents on-site and in the community through coaching, training, and debriefs.
- Coordinate and support visiting specialists who assist with Mental Health Services.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with staff credentialing and regulatory bodies. [1]
- Develop collaborative working relationships with internal CUPS colleagues to strengthen communication.
- Foster a learning culture that supports ongoing growth and capacity building.
- Provide caring, reliable, trauma-informed care to reduce barriers and increase community trust.
- Participate in CUPS committees, community forums, and external collaborations to enhance services.
- Share knowledge with students, volunteers, and guests to expand CUPS' external ambassador network
Employment Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work or psychology (or equivalent) with 5 years’ experience in Mental Health Counselling and currently registered, in good standing, with Professional Regulatory Body
- Knowledge and skills in assessment, DSM-V diagnoses, crisis intervention, and treatment
- Demonstrated ability to practice with a trauma-informed approach in both client and supervisory approach
- Leadership experience providing supervision and support to a team
- Strong assessment and therapy skills and the proven ability to provide evidence-based and episodic treatment
- Experience working with individuals with mental illness and/or substance use concerns
- Successful Candidates must complete a Police Information and Vulnerable Sector Check

Work Conditions
- Exposure to trauma and emotionally complex cases.

- Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, and lifting (minimum 35lbs)
