Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and offer expert advice on pet products, supplies, and accessories
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits of various items, enhancing customer engagement
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling and processing payments
- Assist with merchandising efforts to keep shelves organized, well-stocked, and visually appealing
- Upsell complementary products by understanding customer needs and recommending suitable options
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting remote customers
- Ensure customer satisfaction through attentive service, quick problem resolution, and friendly communication
- Support inventory management by tracking stock levels and assisting with restocking efforts
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in a pet or specialty store environment
- Technical sales experience with product demos or explaining features to customers is highly valued
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey product information and benefits
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and managing POS systems
- Demonstrated organizational skills to keep work areas tidy and stock levels maintained
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while providing exceptional customer service
